Meatpacking District, NYC
September 22, 2018
I spent the last day of summer/first day of fall roaming the streets of NYC’s Meatpacking District. For some reason its the part of the city I felt most drawn to on that first day of autumn. There was a slight chill in the air and the neighborhood was bustling with shoppers and people celebrating at The Standard, who was hosting an Oktoberfest event in there Biergarten. Its a really special part of town that still retains some of the architecture and feel that used to make this NYC neighborhood so identifiable and iconic. And as the city continues to become more and more gentrified and stagnant, its a great place to go take in whats left of the old New York and the fabulous character its neighborhoods were known for. Heres some shots I took that day, from two sets I created to reflect on the change of season (“blue/fall”) and the meatpacking’s storied past (“black and white”). Enjoy!
